Asus Eee PC 1005P gets priced

Posted: 13 Feb 2010 06:07 PM PST

Stores are now selling the refreshed version of the 10″ Asus Eee PC 1005P Seashell running an Atom N450 processor. Options for no OS or Windows 7 makes the pricing a bit interesting.

The one with Windows 7 Starter has a suggested retail price of Php21,900 while the one without any OS is just Php19,896.

Bluetooth
0.3MP webcam
Windows 7 Starter
Price: Php21,900

320GB HDD

The 2 thousand peso difference for the OS and the HDD upgrade to 320GB makes this model a pretty nice deal. I think it’s a good thing they offer options without any OS so consumers can save up a bit and just run some free OS like Ubuntu.

Interesting Stats from YugaTech iPhone App

Posted: 13 Feb 2010 01:57 AM PST

For about 2 and a half months now, we’ve had the YugaTech iPhone App as a dedicated reader for the iPhone and the iPod Touch. I’d like to share some insights on the stats we’ve gathered from over 600 active users.

From just over 600+ YugaTech iPhone App users, close to 60% are coming from the Philippines followed by United States (14.43%), Australia (5.14%) and Singapore (3.81%).

Users by Country/Region:

As for the type of devices used, for the longest time it was the iPhone 3G that led the pack until this month when the iPhone 3GS took the lead at 28.24%. There’s a 6 to 4 ratio between iPhone and iPod Touch users.

Users by Device Type

The most interesting to me actually is the number of jailbroken devices — the 30% has been pretty consistent even from the start so it looks like one in every 3 iPhone users jailbreak their devices.

Jailbroken Devices:

Anyway, just thought I’d share these numbers with my readers and thank them as well for using the iPhone App. I’ll be running a separate give-away for the App users one of these days so watch out for that.

If you like to check out the YugaTech iPhone App and download it to your iPhone or iPod Touch, go see this entry.
